Patches and Upgrades
All patches and upgrades listed here install over the original installation of the game, unless otherwise noted. Therefore, please make sure you have the full game installed before installing an upgrade from this section.Three-D Velocity 1.5
Note: Games saved with an earlier version of Three-D Velocity will be compatible with this version. This is the final upgrade which will include backwards compatibility. Future upgrades will only support saved games from version 1.5 and later. This version installs over previously released updates and contains the changes made in those updates. You must have the full setup installed before installing the update. Below, you will find the list of changes made in all previous versions of Three-D Velocity. The changes in 1.5 will come first, followed by older upgrades. In the April 23, 2011 revision of this update, we corrected an occasional "Null reference exception" which would occur during banking in rapid succession and other actions which would result in numbers to be read out by the computer quickly. This fix is also included in the full install of the game. In the April 12, 2011 revision of this upgrade, we corrected a language localization problem which would crash Three-D Velocity when a status command was issued. This fix is also included in the full install of the game. We would like to thank the authors of this post, and this post, as well as Lukas Kakara, for rigorously testing the fix for us before the public release. We have added more RIO feedback. Opponent aircraft can now strafe with the machine guns. Previously, they would fire single bullets. We have changed the logo heard at the beginning of the game. When you select Racing Mode, you are no longer asked to select a track. We have implemented a vulnerability into the final fight. We have made numerous other improvements to this battle as well. Bug fix: You are now able to press Escape to exit an Auto Play match. Bug fix: The Escape key has been made more responsive. Previously, the player was forced to sometimes press Escape three or four times in rapid succession for the key to register and the player to get the confirmation prompt to exit the game. Bug fix: An occasional error would crash the game with the message: "The sound s\n\point.wav could not be found." Bug fix: An occasional, long-standing error would crash the game with the message: "The array index was outside the array boundaries." This error would occur if the player headed East to sector ZZn. Bug fix: When pressing Escape to exit Racing Mode, the player would hear end-of-race announcements twice. In some cases, the game would crash with the message: "Object reference not set to an instance of an object." Bug fix: In some cases, if an opponent switched their afterburners on, they would not switch them off. Bug fix: If you hit the dead air zone (90,000 feet) and you were in Mission Mode, it would appear as if you crashed into the ocean instead of the fact that your engine exploded. Previous Upgrades:The "We're too loose!" message no longer plays when you first launch, since it is given that your speed will be low. In the learn game sounds program, you must press ENTER on a sound to hear it. Previously, the sound would play as soon as you arrow to it, which would drown out the player's screen reader. The default configuration has been changed. In an effort to better balance resource management, the "stuttering" option is set to "occasional" by default. Previously, it was set to "no stuttering." There was a language localization issue with version 1.2 which would crash Three-D Velocity when a game was loaded on a system running a language other than US or UK English. This issue has been corrected. In version 1.2, guard towers would not fire at the player. This issue has been corrected. We have made some balance adjustments to the game. Fighter waves are not as often as they used to be. There have been other changes in this area as well. Typing in an autopilot command ending in a zero viz. sector e20, no longer reports "invalid sector." We have added some new entries to the "Learn Game Sounds" program. These are the missile sound of a semi-radar-guided missile, the sound of a projectile (fired by the battle ships,) and the sound of the active-radar-guided (cruise) missile. There is now a "Delete Game Data" item in the Start menu. This option will allow you to remove your game data such as mission records and settings; it is useful if you wish to start the mission over from the simulators. We have corrected an issue where, in rare cases, the final battle would not start properly. In previous versions, it was necessary to save a game during the final battle, and then reload it for the battle to start as expected. Your aircraft now has an engine integrity rating. Climbing to an unsafe altitude will damage your engine because of thin air. During Mission Mode, weapons no longer have unlimited vertical range. You cannot be hit above fifty-thousand feet. Before you are attacked by fighters, you will be warned of this in Mission Mode. We have changed some status keys. The Status Mode can be accessed by pressing TAB. C, which used to give the current sector, now gives the course of the aircraft. Current sector location can be gotten by pressing X. H no longer gives a course readout; instead, it will give you the integrity rating of your engine. Refer to the documentation for more details. There have been numerous other improvements as well.
Three-D Velocity 1.5 Update
Treasure Hunt 4.40
This patch installs over Treasure Hunt 4.21 or later, and allows Treasure Hunt to run on 64-bit versions of Windows Vista and Windows Seven. The stall after a guard spots the player has also been corrected. In some cases--for instance, if the player was ambushed--the stall bug would prevent poisoned needles from reaching their targets. In addition, activating the unlimited health cheat now allows the player to walk over mines unharmed. Please note that Treasure Hunt versions 4.30 (included) and 4.40 have undergone a minor codebase update, and may not be compatible with game data from earlier versions. Once this patch is installed, it cannot be removed; therefore, please be aware that you may not be able to load games saved with Treasure Hunt 4.25 and earlier once you install 4.40.Treasure Hunt 4.40 Patch (425KB) 05/12/10
Tournament 5.04
This patch for Tournament fixes some long lasting bugs. These include an issue where the effect for a move would fall negative if a backfire occurred. In addition, the probability of a defense overload or effect overload occurring has been decreased. This patch also installs one new character. Please refer to addendum.txt for details.Tournament 5.04 Patch (334KB) 07/15/07
